Speaking affirmations can be the most powerful activities that you can do however it will only work if you put your emotions into and you are picturing what you say! On one of our book club reviews of Think and Grow Rich by Napoloen Hill he discusses in his chapter on Auto-Suggestion stating that everyday you should take 30 minutes to visualize you future and at the same time while speaking what he calls your definite of purpose you must put emotion into it. Affirmation feed the Subconscious mind.
One thing about the words we use on a continuos basis that we must be aware is that they are the reason for the actions we take. Our subconscious mind is absolutely powerful and we have to be very careful of what it is that we affirm to ourself. One thing about affirmations is that they can be positive or negative. The subconscious believes whatever it is that you tell it on a continuous basis.
When Affirmations are Futile
You wake up in the morning and decide you’re going to kick start your day with some positive affirmations. “Today’s gonna be a GREAT day!” “I am enjoying living my dream life.” “I love my work.” Sounds good, positive, and uplifting, right? Well, that depends on the rest of your day.
You must stay focused on that of which you want versus the challenges of the day. You may get in the shower and start thinking about the problems you are having. Maybe even remember to say an affirmation. Then when you leave out of your house for the day maybe you start thinking of something someone did to you and you totally forget about your positive affirmation.
Maybe midday you remember to say another affirmation or two, but the majority of waking time – day-after-day – is focused on lots of things to fuss and worry over. Whatever it is that you focus your mind on is what you will most surely obtain in your life. The question is will your affirmations start to work for you or is the fact that your thoughts of negativity affect you more? Your question may be, Taurea please tell me how then can I stay completely focused on the positive when there are so many things happening in my life. I can’t just ignore those things.
